A training on Microsoft Skills and Applications

A series of digital skills specialized training have been conducted within efforts dedicated to build the capacities of SDF staff members in October and November 2022.

The training program included several training topics, including services and applications of Microsoft 365 package, user manual and other office applications, such as:365 MS Outlook, Teams, MS Publisher, MS Power Automate, MS OneNote, MS Stream, Sway, TO Do and Forms. The training program also covered MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

SDF staff from different units and projects in addition to the SDF Youth Committee participated in the 24-hour training program.

The training comes as part of “Building the organizational capacities of the Social Developmental forum and promoting the use of digital technologies in capacity building and raising awareness and advocating for marginalized groups” project, implemented by SDF in partnership with GIZ. The project mainly aims to enhance the organizational and technical capacities of SDF through several work streams through developing business systems and building the team’s capacity, digitizing and updating business tools within the organization, and promoting the use of digital in various interventions.

Zayyoun Abbadi, the project coordinator, indicated the importance of capacity building in strengthening institutional building and enhancing the team’s outcomes. She added that the training program is part of collective activities aiming at strengthening and developing institutional structures through capacity building of human resources as well as structures and work mechanisms.

M & E Officer, Abdelraheem Hamad, expressed the importance of these trainings, saying

The capacity-building program has had its intended short and medium-term impact, contributing to the development of the staff productivity. It has also enriched practical experiences in the performance of their daily tasks. The practical aspect of the training is considered an essential component of training where it allowed the team to ask questions and get answers in a unique interactive environment where everyone learns. We hope to see the long-term results of this remarkable program on the human resources in the Social Development Forum in a sustainable manner.

Besan Alshrafi, Wasla Project coordinator assistant , reflected on her participation in the training, saying “The training was directly connected to our nature of work and I think it will reflect effectively on my work in the future. What is remarkable is that the training aligns with the needs of the staff previously referred to in the needs analysis.
