Continuing its programs and activities for people with disabilities in the Gaza Strip, the Social Development Forum launched I CAN project, in partnership with the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Hope Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled- Rafah Governorate, funded by EdicAid. The project aims to provide services that support independence and self-reliance for people with disabilities.

Hwaihi mentioned that the main objective of the project, ” is to provide services that support the independence of people with disabilities and enable them to rely on themselves. Among the services are rehabilitation, occupational therapy services and many other services to ensure that people with disabilities are independent and free to tackle their own problem and rely less on others.”
She also noted the need for persons with disabilities to be economically and socially empowered through the project in order to achieve the principles of the International Convention on Persons with Disabilities and to achieve the objectives of the project and the goals of local partners.
