Position: Social Media Manager
Location: Remotely, preferably a Palestinian in the West Bank, Jerusalem, or abroad.
Duration: 6 months (Full-time, with potential for extension)
Social Developmental Forum (SDF):
A Palestinian NGO was established in 2006 by a group of young activists to create a professional community model capable of delivering community-based services by optimizing digital and non-digital resources to achieve a human-centered developmental vision in accordance with the Rule of Law and civic values.
Social Media Manager at the SDF:
The Social Media Manager leads the SDF’s digital presence to ensure effective reflection of programmatic interventions to the public. The SM manager will work closely with SDF’s units and departments to design and launch digital strategies across different digital platforms and will be responsible for growth, progress, reporting, and adapting to changes in the social media and digital marketing world.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with the organization’s vision and values in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare periodic plans to manage the SDF’s social media platforms and oversee their performance, ensuring diverse and engaging content that aligns with growth strategies and organizational context.
- Create various content plans in alignment with the operational programs in collaboration with relevant parties and service providers including, project coordinators, media unit members, and partners.
- Manage communication with the audience on SDF’s digital platforms and employ the best digital technologies for optimal engagement with the audience.
- Prepare regular reports on digital platforms performance, providing necessary recommendations and addressing challenges to achieve planned digital goals.
- Plan and execute advertising campaigns on social media platforms to effectively achieve the organization’s digital presence goals.
- Collaborate with influencers, peer organizations, and digital coalitions to amplify impact and develop digital partnership opportunities supporting the organization’s goals.
- Prepare and manage email newsletters periodically as needed, sending them and providing feedback for improved audience communication.
- Oversee the digital component of advocacy campaigns conducted by the SDF within its various programs and projects, utilizing the best available tools.
- Provide training and support to team members on effective social media use and supervise interns and/or volunteers assisting in social media management.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:
- University degree in Media and Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, or related fields.
- At least three years of previous experience in social media management, preferably in an NGO or similar work atmosphere.
- Deep knowledge of social media management mechanisms, applications, and techniques for platform growth and digital presence improvement.
- Experience in creating interactive and documentary digital content and strong skills in planning.
- Good understanding of social issues related to the organization’s work and the non-profit sector in the Palestinian territories.
- Basic skills in using design and editing software, digital platform management tools, and analytics tools.
- Proficiency in writing and speaking Arabic and English.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to manage tasks and set priorities.
