Digital Advocacy Manual: one way towards successful advocacy campaigns

The Social Developmental Forum (SDF) delivered six training workshops about the digital advocacy manual. This manual was launched within WASLA 2 project, which offers specialized services focused on digital advocacy and seeks to develop the digital performance of local NGOs. This is done through a series of counselling and guiding sessions that are expected to increase digital efficiency.

The delivered workshops targeted 135 NGOs representatives, youth groups and youth activists who are interested in digital advocacy. These workshops are intended to inform them more about the content of the manual and how to utilize in designing effective advocacy campaigns.

This manual seeks to significantly influence the work of NGOs and activities in the advocacy field and seeks to support the issues they work on, where it can be developed according to the vision of its users.

Hussam Wishah, representing Save Youth Future Society (SYFS) indicated that his participation in the workshops was fruitful where he could sharpen his advocacy skills. He added, “This experience has been remarkable on the practical side, as we lack the experience to digitalize our work effectively through reflecting the issues we work on and the services we provide. However, following the workshops, we could launch a digital advocacy campaign using simple, yet intuitive, tools that make a real difference.

Mohammed Abu Shaaban, from Ele Elna Elk group, he said, “The workshops were very useful, highly efficient and accurate, and although virtual, we have benefited greatly from the information we learned about the difference between social media platforms and how to create and design successful digital advocacy campaigns”.

The manual was developed by a group of consultants in WASLA 2 project “to improve the local response to advocate the rights of persons with disabilities in the Gaza Strip”, which is implemented by the Social Development Forum in partnership with the Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP).
