How was the journey of change with Hasan?

I always kept to myself and didn’t engage much with my peers. Being a person with a disability made me step back from my peers and people my age. I always tried to spend my time with my textbooks, as I had no friends to spend my time with.

I previously joined the “Integrity School” youth program and it left a huge impact on me, and it made me feel that there is hope to get out of this isolation and engage in youth programs. When I heard about the Yalla Change program from social media, I felt that there was a strong opportunity for me to be one its youth leaders, a step that will change my life for the better and widen my horizon and experiences.

I applied to Yalla Change and I patiently waited a response. I was very excited and eager to go through the experience with youth. I started in the training and I fit well my peers. I felt appreciated and respected among my colleagues. Everyone listened to each other and worked well as a team. This made me like i was part of a family.

Yalla Change was a safe space for me that allowed us to think, exchange ideas, and debate in a way that could influence ourselves and influence those around us. I was surrounded by responsible, aware and accepting young people.

Thanks Yalla Change for giving me the opportunity to change myself first and my community second.
