In partnership with the World Central Kitchen, SDF distributes 1,500 food parcels in north Gaza

The Social Developmental Forum (SDF), in collaboration with the World Central Kitchen (WCK), distributed 1,500 food parcels to displaced returners in north Gaza, who have endured a hard journey walking on foot for hours, carrying their belongings, and heading back to their homes. The parcels included vegetables, fruits, and food supplies.
For instance, each parcel contained the major non-perishable food needs for each family, including rice, pasta, beans, hummus, tomato paste, juice, canned meat, and some tailored food items for children.
We aimed to provide a comprehensive food parcel containing fundamental food supplies to support families’ food security upon arrival. We could tell it is relieving assistance for beneficiaries as it secures their needs for a short period. The parcel, provided by the WCK, is a crucial helping hand to support food security.

SDF’s youth network has led the distribution process over the past week. They monitored the storing and distribution processes to ensure beneficiaries received their parcels smoothly.

Al-Baraa Al-Faqih, one of the volunteers participating in the distribution process, said: “I could tell that people were longing for such relief aid and that it does make a difference. The children greeted us with warm smiles, and the elderly prayed for us. It is not a relief parcel but a batch of hope; they feel that they are not left behind. Despite the destruction and starvation, some people are genuinely willing to help”

SDF launched its national relief response program for the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, “Together For Palestine (T4P),” in October 2023, to enhance the resilience of the displaced community amid the Israeli genocidal war. Hundreds of relief interventions took place throughout the Gaza Strip, targeting thousands of IDPs.
