The Social Developmental Forum (SDF) participates in the launching event of the 2025 Arab Youth Capital

Representing Palestinian youth, SDF participated in the launch of “Amman: Arab Youth Capital 2025” and the unveiling of the 2023–2028 Arab Youth, Peace, and Security Strategy’s action plan in Amman, Jordan’s capital.
The ceremony—held in conjunction with the League of Arab States and under the patronage of Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II—aims to provide Arab youth a platform to activate the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda, guided by UN Security Council Resolution 2250.
Youth as a Force for Change
SDF was represented by our west bank focal point, Suhaib Abdat. The launch was attended by several Arab youth ministers, delegations from across the Arab states, and representatives of regional UN agencies.
Youth shouldn’t just take part in national Youth, Peace, and Security plans—they must be recognised as the designers and implementers of those strategies, because they’re best equipped to translate their priorities into policies that make a real difference in their communities.

He added that SDF’s presence underlines its identity as a youth‑led institution working with and for young people, now expanding to represent them on Arab, regional, and international stages—a true badge of honour for SDF in representing Palestinian youth.
Promising Statements
Palestine Olympic Committee President, Jibril Rajoub stated: “Amman as Arab Youth Capital 2025 is an opportunity for our youth—from Rafah to Jenin—to share the story of every Palestinian living in Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, Nuseirat, Rafah, Jenin Camp, Tulkarem, ed by Jerusalem, and every inch of Palestine to present this epic steadfastness and insistence on remaining in our land until we achieve independence and put an end to this struggle.”
Jordan’s Youth Minister, Yazan Shdeifat, stressed that unveiling the implementation plan for the Arab Youth, Peace, and Security Strategy is not merely a ceremonial step but a powerful political message. It reaffirms Jordan’s commitment to Arab youth as the bedrock of comprehensive security in our societies, capable of safeguarding social cohesion, preserving stability, and leading the transition toward a more just and peaceful future.
The Arab Youth, Peace, and Security Strategy
The ceremony also marked the launch of the strategy’s action plan—a unified Arab framework to strengthen youth roles in peacebuilding and in shaping a more stable future.
It provided a genuine opportunity to share experiences, deepen pan-Arab solidarity among young people, and create a dynamic space for dialogue and coordination on youth, peace, and security. Participants noted that the fruitful discussions fostered the exchange of knowledge and expertise among the youth.
SDF continues to champion the Palestinian youth representation
SDF’s involvement in this event highlights its standing as a leading Palestinian youth institution. Working with and through young people, SDF focuses on empowering Palestinian youth to become drivers of change and sustainable development, aspiring to be a model at both national and regional levels.
Today, SDF’s youth network includes over 500 alumni of its programmes, along with several specialised youth networks that continually lead initiatives in areas such as education, mental health, community accountability, and anti‑corruption.
