Wasla: NGOs with better digital presence
In partnership with Medical Aid for the Palestinians- MAP, Social Developmental Forum launched a training program for a group of civil society organizations working in the disability sector to develop their digital performance in using social media platforms and digital advocacy.
The idea behind the training came from the lack or absence of digital and social media presence of NGOs in the Gaza Strip, especially institutions operating in the disability sector, which may negatively affect the organizations reaching the largest possible segment of the beneficiaries and spreading awareness of the issues of persons with disabilities.
Extensive theoretical and practical training on advocacy and digital content creation techniques was held for 6 days for 20 female and male workers in local disability institutions.
The training began by presenting the concept of advocacy and identifying issues and the needs of the local community, followed by a specialized training on the production of graphic designs, image processing and production of various videos, in addition to offering various social media platforms and tools training.
The training aims to build a strong advocacy campaign with attractive, influential and diversified content that helps organizations reach the widest possible audience and broadcast their services.
“A very good training in which I took a lot of information, which helped me in my field of design. It made it a lot easier for me with the applications and tools that we learned” Areej Ayesh, participant
This training is the first stage to develop the digital performance of NGO as Wasla Center for Digital Advocacy will work directly with a number of institutions to provide individual counseling and mentoring sessions.
